Dawne is a Nurse Consultant and has committed her nursing career to working with older people through a variety of clinical, academic and entrepreneurial roles. Her clinical experience has spanned acute hospital care, community nursing, care homes and integrated services undertaking clinical, managerial and academic roles.

Dawne was the Royal College of Nursing lead for dementia care developing national principles for the care of people living with dementia in care homes and in prisons. She has been a member of clinical ethics committees, a director of the International Psychogeriatric Association and publishes widely. Dawne’s current clinical focus is on adult safeguarding notably for people living with dementia and she works with a number of London Hospitals to improve care. She is also a qualified woodland manager and runs an area of ancient woodland in the Chilterns.
