Programme Manager

Ruth Neale is the Programme Lead for the Longitude Prize on Dementia, and was previously the Programme Manager for the Longitude Prize on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) (2018-2022) at Challenge Works.

She brings to Challenge Works more than seven years of experience in global health programme management, as well as expertise in innovation, science communication and policy. More specifically she has experience in innovation projects to drive the creation of diagnostic tools and antibiotic drug discovery.

Assistant Programme Manager

Fernanda Anaya is an Assistant Programme Manager at Challenge Works, where she is currently focused on the Longitude Prize on Dementia.
She has a background in international development, policy and human rights, and has worked across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining Challenge Works, she was Programme Coordinator at Oxfam Mexico, where she led the decent work agenda. She has also worked for the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ilumexico – a leading social enterprise providing solar energy services to rural and off-grid communities.

Fernanda is broadly interested in social and economic inequalities and how they can be addressed through innovation, policy, advocacy and research.  She holds an MSc in International Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelor of Laws from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.

Programme Coordinator

Max Meadows is the Global Health Programme Coordinator for the Longitude Prize on Dementia and the Longitude Prize on Antimicrobial Resistance.

Before joining Challenge Works he worked for a number of independent marketing agencies. As an account manager, he oversaw the production of a range of creative campaigns and events for brands such as Adidas and Samsung.

Max studied International Relations at the University of Leeds and has always had a deep interest in global affairs, political challenges and social and economic change. He is inspired by the tangible impact that challenge prizes can have on improving lives and bringing about change.

 

daniel berman

Global Health Director

Daniel Berman is the Global Health Director at Challenge Works.

Daniel most recently worked for the World Health Organization in Ethiopia on a local pharmaceutical production project and was the general director of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Southern Africa office in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He brings to Challenge Works more than 15 years of international public health experience as well as expertise in stimulating and developing innovation in both medicines and diagnostic products. He also has experience in projects to create uptake of new health products and technologies.
